Happy Birthday!!

When we are...
At age 4: Mom knows everything!
Age 8: Mom knows a lot!
Age 12: Mom doesn’t really know everything.
Age 14: Mom doesn’t know anything.
At age 16: Mom doesn’t exist.
Age 18: She’s old fashioned.
Age 25: Maybe Mom does know about this!
Age 35: Before we decide, let’s ask Mom.
At 45: I wonder what Mom thinks about this?
At age 75:  I wish I could ask my Mom about this...

Happy 75th Birthday Mom
(who DOES know everything!)
We love you!

Ha Ha, Funny Man...

Justin lost his wedding band.  Probably at the commercial job he did at the end of last week.  I asked him tonight when we should break down and buy him a new one....
"after I break up with my girlfriend" he says.

He's lucky I am not a violent person. Wait, I am a violent person...he's lucky I'm too tired to raise my arms to throw something at him!

My Case for Being a Hoarder

Ella had a 3rd party to go to this weekend, requiring a costume again. She had been a Mummy twice already and we were both tired of getting her in and out of that costume! She had gotten her face painted the day before and wanted to keep that on so we thought she could go as a cat/kitten. I vaguely remembered having a costume with cat ears and a tail in the basement...from when she was a toddler.

I dug through the Halloween costume tote and sure enough, there it was! I pulled the tail off of the costume that would barely fit a 2 year old, pinned it onto her leggings and then put the ears on. She was happy and it was easy (making me happy!).
We also dug the Bat Mobile out of the basement this past weekend. Of course, after 12 years of storage, the battery was dead - so Justin and Si went to Batteries Plus, grabbed a new one and off Si went.
Now I just have to find the mask for Silas to wear!

Trick-or-Treat '10

Wednesday night, it was 65 degrees and wonderful out.  Last night, which was Beggars' Night...40 degrees and windy. We froze our butts off!  But the kids had a great time, and the coffee and Bailey's made it all tolerable for the moms.
Mason went with a group of friends and ran around the 'hood.
Ella as a mummy - and she was darn good at it.
Si was Spider Man, one with big muscles.

Allysa, Ashlee, Ella, Sammy and Si.

Will the real scary monster man please stand up??

More Silas

We're all in the van together, and admiring the new patches on Ella's Girl Scout vest.
"What's your Troop number Ella?"
Silas innocently pipes in - "666"
Justin and I cracked up - if the shoe fits...

A recent Facebook post::
I love how Si's story changes when Ella yells that "Silas hit me!" - it quickly goes from "No I didn't, no I didn't" to "I did it gently!!

He's been in trouble constantly lately, but cracking us up when he's not driving us over the edge!

Soccer Silas Style

I have so many pictures to upload and stuff to update when I get some time but as I was reviewing pictures from today's soccer games, I thought these were funny.
We played the team of one of Si's friends today (Carson) so I was trying to get some shots of him (in the front white shirt). I didn't notice Silas' face in the background until I was uploading :)
And a closer look at his face...
Look at his arms here - he's lucky he doesn't punch himself in the face when he runs!
And how is his back arm/hand up that high??

Definitely gotta give him an A for effort and for keeping himself amused out there on the field!

Not Impressed

It's pretty bad when you can't even impress a 4 year old with your exercise abilities...

Silas:  Mama, what are you doing?
Me: Trying to do sit-ups
Silas: Well....you're a little bad at it.
(Oh yeah??)...
Me (between gasps for breath):  Hey Si, did you know that Santa is taking some time off and there won't be a Chrismas this year?
