I still have a lot of stuff (like my traveling, Ella's first girl scout camp and the 4th of July weekend) to update on but thought I'd share a couple pictures of my youngest goofball first. Silas has been on a roll lately with his goofiness :)
For the 4th he decided to spike his mohawk and dye it blue
The big mosquito bites on his head looks like the beginnings of either horns or nipples. Poor kid has been getting eaten alive this summer! I can't help but think that we might be damaging him now by allowing him to have a blue Mohawk and tattoos!
Yesterday the kids were playing with my phone and when I was scrolling through the pictures I found this one of Silas
His face just cracks me up.
Poor Ella has another black eye from jumping on the trampoline. You can't see it too well here but it's a good one!
I have been laying low on the blogging for the past week - one reason is that I am having a hard time finding time. My work is extremely busy and it's been crazy around here with the floors going in and the mass chaos of the house during that. As you can tell...it's going to well worth the installation mess! We've done some temporary rearranging of the furniture so that we can get the front room prepped for destruction, but all in all, our family room is livable again!
The 2nd reason that I've been laying low is that Justin found out at the end of last week that he will be losing his job by the end of this month. It came as a complete shock and it took us a few days to come to grips with it and then start formulating a plan of action. We feel much better than we did over the weekend and are ready to get moving in the search. You all will be hearing from me soon asking for any contacts or leads in the construction and building supply/materials industry!
Other news this week:
Ella and Si make silly faces! Yeah, what's new!?
And both had invisible boo-boos that they HAD to have Band-aids for!
I spent a frustrating amount of time yesterday looking for an overdue library DVD - once I found it (about 3 hours later) I then realized I had lost the case that I'd been carrying around all day and had to spend another 3 hours looking for it! Now that I have them properly married...it'll spend another 3 days in my car racking up fines!
Luckily, last week (before the bad news) I purchased the entire 4 season set of the 70's TV series Soap and so we are getting some laughs watching the episodes after the kids are in bed - this has been a nice stress reliever! Any Soap fans??
For our far away families to keep up with the gang, and so that I can look back at all the fun of life with 3 kids :) This is my rememberer. We are: Mason (20), Ella (12), Silas (9), Dad/Justin (old), Mom/Christa (older)
Words to Live by...
“The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. . . . I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less” Anna Quindlen (Loud and Clear, 2004)
