HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We wish you all a wonderful New Year's Eve and joyous 2008!

We are laying low tonight. Possibly going across the street to the neighbor's for a bit but the kids have had such a crazy schedule lately that we want to have them in bed by about 10pm - and then we'll sip our Blanc de Blanc sparkling wine (and Natty Light) and watch football until the ball drops.

Here is a picture of Ella making a cake in her Easy Bake Oven that Aunt Amanda gave her last year for Christmas. She is a really great baker!

Be safe and have a wonderful night - love to you all!

Video - How Si goes down the stairs

Si (copying what he's seen his sister do) has decided walking down the stairs isn't quite fast enough.

Santa, is that you?

I love this picture of Ella and Si on Christmas morning - the look on their faces seems like they are seeing Santa fly off in his sleigh. Actually their papa had just walked into the room which meant it was present opening time!

Too cute not to post

Our friends, Beth and Greg (whom most of you have met) got a new puppy. He was a "model" for a Christmas greeting card and a birthday card that will be coming out in 2008 - isn't he a doll?!

Bless you mama video

Si is in the polite stage (unlike E and M!) - Another short video clip (ignore him standing on the chair about to break his neck...)

Yippee

Finally, I got the sidebar slide show to work! I believe by clicking on the slide show, it will take you to the album so you can see them in a bigger size and download them.

Another video

Since the last one worked, here is one of M opening his iPod on Christmas - Tim wrapped it up in the tube and stuffed it in a pair of my panty hose :) I love M's face at the beginning of the video.

test video post

I'm going to see if I can upload a video that you can view...

FYI - I think we may have an Em on our hands - Si was just upstairs stripped down again...

Si's Bday pictures

We had cookies and presents after dinner last night for Si - he ate about 3 or 4 cookies and was then bouncing off the walls the rest of the night. I put him to bed around 9:30 and still at 10pm he was bouncing in his bed and yelling for me. When I went in to see what the problem was, he handed me a diaper and said "diaper poking" or something like that - it was then that I realized that he was butt naked - he had unzipped his jammies and taken them and his diaper off...down to his birthday suit.

Thanks for all the b-day presents!! He seems to be enjoying them all!

Mason was sick most of the day yesterday - had a fever of 101.3 and felt lousy. He's feeling better today though still not 100%. I'm glad it didn't hit on Christmas!

Today my goal is to get the disaster that is my kitchen cleaned up. There are toy parts and wrapping bits and pieces and cookies and candies and batteries and god knows what else all over the place!

2 years ago today...

Two years ago today I was on the way to the hospital right now in labor with Si. Woke up at about 8am and told J that we might need to find someone to take the kids - that I was feeling weird. Hospital at noon and he was here at 2:38pm - what a GOOD baby he was too - happy, slept so great. He woke up this morning as rotten as can be - he knew he had just hit the terrible twos!

Merry Christmas Morning!

What a fun and wonderful morning. JP and I didn't get to bed until about 2:30am - the gang stayed over and helped wrap (Thank goodness!!) and partook of food and beverages...lots of beverages. The kids didn't wake us up until around 7:50 - M said he had been awake since 5am. They had an awesome time ripping into all the gifts and everyone seemed very happy with their new toys - including J who got a new portable air compressor, knives (ours were incredibly cheap and dull) and I got new red mammoth crocs, some silpada jewelry and best of all, a new 300mm zoom lens for my camera - I love it!!Everyone is playing with their respective toys and having a grand time. Later today we will go to mom's and dad's for dinner and to hang with the rest of the family.
Love to all and Merry Christmas!!

Santa C is coming to town

Santa came to the 'hood last night. We had our annual neighbor party and had about 10 billion kids there this year. Si gave Santa the stare-down.
2 more sleeps until Christmas - in E's wording. I have nothing wrapped yet but that is not unusual. At least it is all bought. I will try to ship the kids off for few hours tomorrow and get some wrapped. Then Margie and Tim as well as Sarah and Brian will come over and we'll have snacks, drink a bit and finish it up. Seems to work for everyone (luckily or else we'd never get all our gifts wrapped!)
I discovered a new super easy Christmas treat - pretzels with melted white chocolate and m&m's on top - yummy. I made a batch today to take to mom's on Christmas day. J was commenting that I've been very crafty this year - made some frames for family and some Christmas ornaments for some other family. I skipped out on making the cards though. too much pressure!

We made our first call ever to Poison Control today....J was doing some stuff for work and was gone, M was at the movies with pap-pa and E was up in her room playing. It suddenly dawns on me that I haven't heard a peep from S in awhile...that usually means he is looking at his books or getting into something. I went upstairs and the smell of Vicks vapo-rub about knocks me over. He's covered himself all over his chest, arms and neck in it. I asked him "did you get the medicine in your mouth?" and he says "eat med-sin, eat med-sin". When I started rubbing it all off with the wash cloth, he stuck his tongue out too to be wiped down - apparently it wasn't as tasty as he'd hoped...His breath didn't smell like Vicks but I figured it was better to call Poison control and see what they say! J came home then and called the hotline. Not to worry, apparently it takes quite a bit (2 tablespoons or so) for it even to be an irritant, meaning that he might then throw up. I watched him for about an hour to make he didn't seem sick or have a tummy ache.

Test post - photo layout

One of my favorite pictures of Si when he was a little baby.

This is when he fell asleep in his floatie in Dale Hollow Lake.

And Finally: this is JP and E on the wave runner in Dale Hollow.
