So much to blog, so little time!

What a great weekend! I will have to break this into several posts to keep it all straight. Saturday I was lucky enough to get to go to the OSU - Purdue game at the shoe (thanks to Sarah). We had a lot of fun but it was hotter than heck on the sunny side of the stadium all day!

I was a little confused at first when I tried to take a picture of me and Sarah...first I pushed the wrong button and turned off the camera. Then I forgot I was the one that had to snap the picture...so I'm waiting....der...

Ahhh, here we go!

Sarah and I pimped our ride for the game :)

I missed getting scripted Ohio on video but here is the next little jig!

Any resemblance?

Ella got her kindergarten pictures back this week. Very cute. click to enlarge and you will see that she has her missing tooth front and center.

And who is that strange little girl beside her? Well, I'll give you one guess...

Yes...me. My mom was a little scissor happy, we didn't have quite the fashionable clothing back in '75 or whenever this was...but this is me in kindergarten.
Don't you think I resemble a young Shawn Cassidy?

Well, maybe it's just the hairdo. and the nose. and the freaky 70's look.

Anybody seen my baby??

He's apparently missing and been replaced with THIS kid!
In the Levi jeans and his "work boots" (which he wants to wear all the time now because they are like Daddy's) he just looks all grown up :(

My Smiley Siley...looking absolutely as rotten as can be...

I love free things. DZ brought me a fun bag of stuff from the Limited/VS sale (where Lee works). I love these jammies - they are warm and comfortable (and oh so sexy). I just can't figure out why the kids ask me if they can have a lollipop every time I wear them...

We instituted a new bedtime this week. Friday night, Ella and Silas were screaming, crying, fighting and being miserable to be around by 7:30pm. We had plans to go to the James' but knew it would be a disaster so we jammied the kids up and got them into bed at 8:15pm. They both slept until almost 8am. We decided that they were both sleep deprived and since then, we have been getting them to bed at least an hour earlier (it had been 9-9:30pm - yes, way too late!). You'd think after being parents for the last 13+ years we'd catch on to the clues of exhausted children!!

Weekend pictures

If you know any of my kids - you'll agree when I say they can be pretty quirky. Silas is now into wearing belts. Pretty much every day he asks if he can wear pants with "belt hoops" so he can put one on. He also asks all the guys "You got belt on?" Aunt Margie bought him a new belt the other day. So now he's starting a new trend...belted pj's.

Sunday was such a beautiful fall day. After Justin and I worked around the house much of the morning and early afternoon, we took the kids down to the park to play. Here are a few pictures.

We let Si ride his bike to the school and back. Actually, Justin and I ended up carrying it about 1/2 way there and back - otherwise I don't think we'd be home yet...

I love this picture of Si - I think it's a framer.

We wanted to get Ella out without training wheels a few more times before the warm weather is gone.
She did a great job - hopped right on and took off. The only problem was when she tried to avoid Si and ended up crashing. I love her riding and blowing bubbles.

Pop!

Justin is finished with the floors! Bathroom AND hall closet are done!

He was out cleaning all the tools off of the deck and Silas asked him what he was doing. Justin told him, "I'm cleaning off the deck because ALL the floors are done now so I can put my tools away."
Silas' comeback, "Is...is...is the laundry all done?"
I could hear Justin's bubble burst - especially since we had been doing laundry ALL day and it wasn't finished yet!
But the floors and cleaned off deck both look beautiful!

I'll bet you $10

that you don't have one of these on YOUR deck!

Blah

I haven't felt up to posting lately
because I've been feeling really icky the last few weeks. I've been in bed by 9 or 9:30 much of the past week, making it hard to find much time to post.
Most likely my blah-ness is gallbladder related but we're still in the midst of testing.

So, some quick updates and a few pictures.
JOB - Justin's job hunting is going well. In addition to the "regular" search, he's taken steps to start his own business, and as long as I don't think about the scary stuff like health insurance and the fact that we'd both be self-employed, I'm very excited about it. He had his first job on Monday doing some work for a past customer and has some other bids out for jobs as well. Keep your fingers crossed!

Kids- They are all doing great. Tuesday night was Ella's curriculum night at the school. We love her teacher. Ella comes off of the bus everyday spelling the words they are learning and telling us all she did that day.
The same evening was Mason's Washington DC planning trip. He goes in October. I remember having a great time when I went in the 8th grade. He's been warned that if he misbehaves and gets sent home from the trip, he has to repay the trip $$ back to us!
Silas is still working on his potty training. He seems to do a much better job at Kelly's than here.

Ella had a great soccer game on Saturday. It's so much fun watching the girls play.

Soccer was followed up with a great birthday party for our friends Gavin and Evelyn

Silas was in heaven getting to eat pizza and then CAKE! He is the biggest junk-food-junkie ever!

I am looking forward to the weekend. I want to get my fall/Halloween decorating started. I can't believe it's already that time of year again! Time to start my Christmas shopping too!
